Marijuana Botany: An Advanced Study: The Propagation and Breeding of Distinctive Cannabis by Robert Connell Clarke
This one is a lot more niche. Robert Connell Clarke explains in detail the science behind preserving and multiplying disappearing strains. Also included is a trove of information on breeding programmes. This one is more applicable to breeders or genetic enthusiasts rather than the casual grower. Nonetheless, it represents a fascinating read. Scientists and botanists, especially, will love this study.
The language used here is fairly science-heavy, so if you’re looking for light reading, Marijuana Botany may not suit you. If you’re a true student of the cannabis plant, however, you’ll love Clarke’s in-depth guide to the propagation and breeding techniques.
Marijuana Cooking: Good Medicine Made Easy by Bliss Cameron and Veronica Green
Don’t be fooled by the title – yes, this is a marijuana cookbook, but it offers so much more than recipes. There are recipes included, and they look delicious, but what sets Marijuana Cooking apart from so many of its contemporaries is the medical twist. Cameron and Green put an emphasis on the therapeutic power of the plant, meaning this is considerably more than just another book about edibles to get you high.
The authors provide five useful ways to prepare marijuana for cookery, and include advice on dosage at the same time. In addition, substitute ingredients are thoughtfully provided to cater to different palates and medical conditions. Among the many reasons to make this the only cookbook you buy is the careful consideration given to medical use. Recipes are designed to alleviate specific conditions, making this a must-have for any therapeutic user of cannabis.
Indoor/Outdoor Marijuana: The Medical Grower’s Handbook by Jorge Cervantes
If you’re looking for the ultimate guide to growing cannabis for medical use, you’ll find it in this book. There’s a wealth of information here, including details on how to set up and successfully produce crops in a greenhouse.
Originally published in 1983, this great book has since been expanded and rewritten with updated information and techniques. This best-seller is one book no grower should be without. With a new section on medical cannabis co-authored by Dr John McPartland, Indoor/Outdoor Marijuana gives insights far beyond the basics of cultivation.
Indoor/Outdoor Marijuana is superbly written, well organized and contains occasional bursts of Jorge’s fabulous humour. This book is arguably the cream of the crop on the subject. It contains some real gems of information you won’t find in other books. Information is immensely broken down into manageable chunks, and the book contains over 1100 coloured photographs.
Hashish! By Robert Connell Clarke
Robert Connell Clarke is one of the world’s leading experts on hash. In this book, he takes you through a detailed and fascinating history of Hashish use from its origins. This book will appeal to casual users and historians alike as Clarke lays out the ins and outs in superb detail. This entertaining and informative work brilliantly explains the method of production, consumption and even the chemistry of hash.
Full of wonderful illustrations and some brilliant facts of fairly uncommon knowledge, Hashish! Is the perfect handbook for hash aficionados. If you’re not a hash user or lover, this book may well make you one!
These are the 5 best cannabis books to add to your collection!
