A classic DOCUMENTARY I would love the WORLD to see. Its a battle trying to get it to stay anywhere because of the COPYRIGHTS and LICENSES. Enjoy it while you can. Peace to PE! http://www.publicenemy.com/
Fear of a black planet best hip hop rap album of all time it never gets old ,flavour flav greatest hype man in history, glad to see them in 1995 they mainly played there new album music and our message, I would of liked to have heard a few old songs they just did a little cameo for about a minute of old songs it was a small venue and crowd but chuck said it was one of the best gigs he did it was crazy in Dublin brilliant gig .
Man o Man, PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE WHAT ERIC B AND RAKIM WAS TO HIP HOP! COMPLETELY CHANGED THE GAME! It wasn't DRUGS, DRUG LORDS, PROSITUTION OR EVEN GANGSTER! IT WAS THE PURE SCIENCE OF THE GODS!
Griff had to be neutralized remember what Hoover said “they will never have another black messiah” Griff was in the way of the “Gangsta” plan that was on the way
Everything they do is by design. The 64 Civil Rights Bills. The pump heroin in the black community after WW2. There are too many things to list. We are done
These guys were about 5 years older than me but as a white boy from the DC burbs they blew my mind. Never heard anyone call Elvis a racist. Had to investigate that and then that led to more and more and then Malcolm X and so on. Probably exactly what they intended. It worked on me. Easily the most influential lyrics with the music to grab your attention I can think of. Dylan was great of course and no need to compare but with PE one had no doubt what they were saying. Nothing implied and simply and loudly in your face. I still listen to PE from time to time. The message has never been dampened.
The X'ing out, or CROSSING OUT of progressive African American thinking was/is still IN FULL EFFECT! Spike put out the movie Malcolm X. The movie theaters passed out Home Alone tickets to fallaciously say it outsold MX. I got the ticket.
If Bob Dylan get the literature nobel prize for his lyrics, Chuck D should also get someday

Public Enemy, NWA, Geto Boys and 2 Live Crew. The biggest militant barrier breakers in Hip Hop.

Rage is white cops killing a 92 yr old black unarmed woman not a black man rapping about it
I see a red door
And I want it painted black

RUN-DMC was NEVER on Def Jam. They were on Profile records.
