Datura and Brugmansia can be grown in tubs and pots in cooler climates, and directly in the garden in warmer climates.

The Datura/Brugmansia seed we do not
grow ourselves is provided from commercial growers from around
the world, and often the photo and information accompanying the
seed listing is from the grower. We have well meaning visitors
to our site from time to time who wish to correct us on a
listing or photo, but we must list the information as the
grower provides. We apologize if this causes any confusion, and
certainly appreciate any input from our customers.

We find that in growing these ourselves, sometimes an individual plant will produce somewhat different colors than shown ( while sister plants grown from same pack will be true ), this is the nature of datura and brugmansia seeds, especially from overseas growers. If you are growing seeds to sale plants, you should always allow plant to bloom before selling. If this varience is a concern, then you should not buy these seeds.

Datura

Black Currant
    Swirl Datura

D9594 Black Currant
Swirl Datura

Gorgeous is the only word that can do justice to this splendid
purple colored blooms of this variety, generously sized with
generous numbers of petals materials in a most regal colour of
deep purple, almost black.

Evening Fragrance
    Datura

FA89 Evening Fragrance
Datura

( Datura metel ) One of our favorite patio plants, Evening
Fragrance has huge, heavily fragrant pure white trumpet
flowers, with a soft lavender picotee edge, averaging 6-8
inches long and 4-6 inches across, hanging from small tree-like
plants growing 3-4 feet tall, with soft, slate-blue foliage.
Should be grown in tubs, containers, on patios or close to the
house where the evening perfume can be appreciated. Despite
their exotic appearance they are relatively tough under windy
and rainy conditions, adapting to many soil types.

Belle Blanche Datura

2127 Belle Blanche

This is one of our favorite patio plants, it is easy to care for, has fragrant blooms with a lemon-cream fragrance and maintains a good size in smaller pots, only getting 36″ tall in large pots. Large, fragrant, creamy flowers look magnificent in sheltered bedding displays or in containers on the patio. A great moon garden plant that opens it’s flowers at twilight.

Double Purple
    Datura

2173 Double Purple
Datura

One of our favorites, it grows 3 to 5 feet tall and requires
almost no care or maintanance. The flowers are a double purple
with a white center and are trumpet shaped with edges that roll
back and form tendrils. The flowers are very fragrant and are
strongest in evening. Blooms repeatedly in the summer time.

A note from one of our customers:

“I had an excellent success rate with my purchase
of brugs and daturas. My back yard is resembling a mini Angel
Trumpet and Datura paradise!”. Janine

A note from one of our customers:

Jim,
Enjoying the first bloom of an Oak Leaf Datura. What a
delicious fragrance! I have several Datura/Brugmansia, mostly
grown from seed. The bloom is especially lovely considering
what happened.
I planted the seed that I ordered from you in September
forgetting that I had to go out of town for two weeks. Rather
than watering them I enclosed entire flats in plastic and
placed in my outdoor greenhouse. When I opened the plastic the
first of October many of the seeds had germinated and were
leggy. I immediately potted them up in 4″ pots and
fertilized.
And now my first reward. Most of the 50 remaining plants are
looking healthy. So a big mistake can work out. Isn’t nature
great.
Can’t wait to plant the seed that I ordered from you during
your sale, but I am waiting until I return home in March. Thank
you for the wonderful additions to my gardens.
Nancy

SF403 Fragrant Peach Angel’s Trumpet ( Brugmansia versicolor )

New! We have being trying to source seeds for this one for years! This species from Ecuador forms a large shrub or small tree to 15 feet tall and as wide with beautiful large pale apricot heavenly scented flowers through summer and fall. This is our favorite brugmansia plant as the entire plant is smothered with flowers in late summer through fall, emitting a wonderful fragrance for hundreds of feet around. It benefits from a hard cut back in the spring. Will take sun or shade, moderate water. Hardy to about 20-25 degrees F.

Pumpkin Yellow Brugmansia

SF329 Pumpkin Yellow Brugmansia ( Brugmansia sp. )

This is a delightul brugmansia with a unique color. Soft pumpkin yellow blooms simply cover this plant as it matures. It is easy to grow in containers or in the garden. If you are growing it in a cold zone outside, simply cut a few stalk ( about 30 inches ) pieces before the last freeze, put them in a five gallon bucket of water and store in
an area that does not freeze, they will root over the winter, providing you with fresh planting material in spring.

the pink hybrids you see so much of today. Wonderfully robust
plants that are covered in huge blooms ( slightly fragrant in
our area ) spring through summer.

Brugmansia Arborea

FA77 Brugmansia Arborea

Arborea is unusual in that it is one of the few brugmansia
cultivars which are self fertile. Flower shape differs from
other brugs and color is always either white or cream. The
leaves are slightly pubescent and have a distinctive color and
shape. Arborea prefers cooler temperatures and grows, and blooms
in late fall, winter and early spring.
Brugmansia arborea is a very robust and somewhat drought
tolerant variety. Green, velvety, trumpet-shaped leaves and
beautiful creamy white 4 ½ -6 ½” long fragrant
flowers are produced continually. Native of Ecuador and
Northern Chile. Sow seed at 61° F in standard potting mix,
water freely during growing season and moderately during winter
months, but don’t let dry out. Feed every 3 to 4
weeks.

Jim’s Plant Growth Stimulator

Please note that this is not a plant food or fertilize, this is a combination of natural ingredients intended to improve plant growth. Many greenhouse growers and commercial farms use a combination of these ingredients in their growing process. We have been using this formula in our gardens, fields and greenhouses since 1992, and we use it on everything we grow. We would not make this available to our customers if we did not firmly believe that it does enhance the growth and health of plants that it is applied to.
To see the results for yourself, we advise using it on some plants and not on others and see the difference.

Note: We only ship this product to addresses inside the USA.

The following ingredients are used in making Jim’s Plant Growth Stimulator:

Gibberellic Acid

Gibberellic Acid is a member of a type of plant hormone called Gibberellins, which regulate the growth rate of plants. It was first discovered in Japan, in 1935 as a result of the study of a condition
common in rice plants called “foolish seedling” disease, which caused the plants to grow much taller than normal. The effects of gibberellins weren’t widely understood until years later.
Gibberellic Acid is EPA approved, and is commercially used to grow most fruits and vegetables we eat.

B1 Vitamins and Plant Hormones

We add a blend of plant vitamins and hormones to stimulate plant growth and allow the plant to absorb food
from the soil quicker and also assimilate micronutrients that they may not normally be able to absorb due to various soil conditions.

Micronutrients

All plants benefit from micronutrients, so we’ve added a humic acid base with Boron (B), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum (Mo), Sulfur (S) and Zinc (Zn) in our solution.

Other ingredients

We also add a natural detergent additive that causes the sprayed on solution to “stick” to the plant leaves until the solution is absorbed by the plant, this detergent also discourages insects from feeding on the leaves for a short time after the solution is applied.

Each 8 ounce bottle of JPG01 Plant Growth Stimulator makes 16 gallons spray-on solution, you can also use a drench and pour it around the base of the plant if you prefer. The bottle comes with a 1/2 ounce measuring spoon, simply mix a half ounce of plant growth stimulator with a gallon of water and spray onto the plants, or drench the soil around the plant. :

Spray plants weekly, best to apply in early morning/late evening. Start spraying when plants are young. Can be sprayed onto vegetable plants upto harvest. Mix 1/2 ounce stimulator with one gallon of water.
