This song takes me back to my teenage days workin' in a gas station and some of the brothers was drivin' Volkswagen Beetles with the Rolls Royce grill and one group of guys drove dropped 63 chevy with the brown fuzz paint job with the Fuzz Mobile written on the side.. Even saw one cruising the High School parking lot at lunch time with Grass growin on the top. It was some crazy sht back in those days. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
Brings back loving memories of camping with family and friends in '74 and '75. Cutoffs and 0 SPF tan lotion. Sunburn and vinegar. Hot links and rich potato salad with deviled eggs. Dad drinking Tuborg and Olympia beer. Rum and coke and VO and 7. Good times
Timeless classic. Memories of living in the hood in the 70s as a young boy. Greatness. Those times, memories and people. This brings it all right back.
Recognized Blondie on the beach right away. Then all the greats like the Rolling Stones, Kiss, the Village People, Andy Warhol, Jerri Hall, and got excited when I saw the Ramones!!! I think David Byrne from Talking Heads may have been the last guy walking in, but I'm not sure.
I remember first hearing this song and I thought it was Curtis Mayfield.
