All hail and all props to Dolomite I mean Rudy Ray Moore really put Dolomite on the map but this this movie here I truly have to say this this movie is my most favorite
I'm SOOO glad I bought this on DVD way back in the day. I've probably seen this movie a millions times. they need to release in into theaters! it would make billions now. people are incredibly starved for goof films of ANY genre. especially comedy. Dramas are pretty dead but comedys are verboten to make today. scary.
2:30 Love how you can tell by the shock in his eyes that Black Dynamite accidentally threw the nunchucks across the room, so they just keep playing the sound and throw it to him from off-screen to pretend he intended to use it as a boomerang.
unironically love the edit at 3:10 of black dynamite running outside, the way it's cut with the door sound effect is just extremely satisfying. He acknowledges Bullhorn's handling of the situation, and instantly dramatically turns his head around and bolts for the door. He flies outside so fast he's literally sliding as he exits, looks for chicago wind as he's sliding, then chases after him.
it's like, perfectly cut so that as his head turns to the door he is instantly outside. it's as if he can move so fast that he's just instantly out of the door and flies out of it at incredible speed, then the snap zoom on his face as he does his amazingly hilarious over the top karate pose, while sliding, then him running off
The point of this scene is a homage to Rudy Ray Moore "Dolemite" and the movies he produced on a small budget. Dolemite couldn't afford great editing so scenes were choppy, the fight scenes were always pieced together and edited poorly, microphones were seen in the movie, some Actors where unhappy… So changing the Actor in the middle of a scene because of some shit that happened during filming was something that could happen in a Dolemite movie, although I don't believe it did. Dolemite couldn't afford to blow up a damn Porsche so he would have changed the car right before it crashed if this was his movie. Lol! Black Dynamite is a Classic and should get more props than it does. Eddie Murphy paid Tribute in is film "Dolemite Is My Name"… Check it out if you haven't seen it. I went to the National Museum of African American History and was kind of upset that they didn't include Rudy Ray Moore.
Chicago Wind is played by Mykelti Williamson aka Bubba from Forrest Gump
Our current world could seriously use some Black Dynamite.
I love how the shit talk trail off once they realize he locking the door
Bullhorn aka Dolomite lol
sooo fn holarious when they just switch actors mid scene. favorite moment in the movie accept for dynamites pickup line in this one: https://youtu.be/BDigsMuV-eA?si=8NjLIbcOH_Cf3aKC
I don’t answer questions i ask em
Chicago Wind would be a good name for a sports team!
1:00 the little nuances like always referring to the shell casing as "heavy shit"
Aww, yousa corn-fed fool witha lotta muscle mass, but it's time for Bullhorn to git up in dat azz. WAAAAH!!
It got real when BD locked the door.
2:29 He lets the nunchuks go and they're thrown back at 2:31. The genius of this movie is in the idiocy of the tiny details.
Chicago Wind was great in Fallout, I loved when he fell 50 feet down a hole

3:24 I love that they changed from a dark skinned actor to a light skinned actor it always cracks me up and I don't know why.

I love how the exploding car isn't even Chicago winds car, it's Black Dynamites
Yep. .when a dude confronts you and locks the door, windows, and changes the sign from open to closed.haha

all in 1.5 seconds. it's genuinely good editing.
