Boogie Down Productions-The Bridge is over

Boogie Down Productions P & DJ Red Alert -The Bridge is over The Bridge is Over – Boogie Down Productions (1987) – When MC Shan responded to BDP’s “South Bronx” with “Kill That Noise”, KRS and BDP’s career began. They responded with “The Bridge is Over” and completely ripped apart Shan and the Juice Crew, making this track the greatest diss song of the 80’s and one of the best of all time.

  1. I played KRS / BDP in SoCal… sort of after Beastie Boys / DMC / Rakim came up.
Didn't care that no one knew nothing about all that NY borough stuff and played it anyway.
BTW look for a late 70's New Years party recording of Grand Master Flash. He was doing that Beasties' Paul Revere "reverse scratch" live in like 77 or 78?! Da Fook man, get that guy a statue!

  2. man i always found that "yeaaaaaaah" super hard ..in this video version.. check my song out Albani – Step Up .. its a whole reference to this bdp era

  3. After this song, I felt bad for MC Shan lol he never fully recovered. He should have just ignored KRS when he first dissed him on South Bronx. KRS even said if Shan never responded, he would have won the battle. And KRS would be nowhere.
