To think that most of these people weren't even professional actors. They were cast directly from the slums of Rio, and delivered some of the most realistic portrayals of characters I have ever seen. As a Brazilian, this movie truly makes me proud. Makes me think we are riddled with artistic talent everywhere, just waiting to be found.
interesting fact is that they actually shot these 2 kids in the foot to make it more realistic so all the crying you see is real as the kids didnt expect to be shot at point blank in the foot
After the little kid chooses to be shot in the hand, Lil Ze shoots him in the foot instead, this goes to show how cruel, brutal, and sadistic Lil Ze is.
