  1. These guys immigrated from Guyana to UK. After a year later, because of the glass ceiling for Black bands in UK they split up. Two became lawyers and because of that they had no idea how big the song got in NYC hip hop scene. In my day Jazzy Jay would two-turntable that break and bring the crowd to rapture. That bass was an anthem in 70s Brooklyn.

  2. Bruh…Who is here to listen to Bra because a commercial in high rotation uses this song to advertise. It’s like an ear worm and a mind worm THAT I CAN’T GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!

Also — Anna Paquin dances to this song in the movie The 25th Hour.

  3. This is what having people of color on your marketing and advertising teams sounds like! Genius commercial hitting that nostalgia spot for the old school demographic good job.

  4. The industry acts like the 70’s music never existed. Again, marching HBCU we played this as part of a group of songs coming onto the field. Like many other commenters I forgot this song until I heard it on a commercial.

  5. I'm grateful to have grown up when I did. I was 8 years old when this song was released and from that time to this, I have very fond memories of East Harlem and my amazing family, especially Mom.
