  1. …saw him “live !” In prolly 1972 at doug Weston’s troubadour…. Went because of “the ghetto”, and he came out SMOKIN’ w/ “WHATS GOIN’ ON!”—- LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER MARVIN DID THAT NUMBER ON THE WORLD!!! What A DELIGHTFUL SWITCH & DOUBLEHEADER!!! GRAND SLAMMER BOTH, along w/the rest of the show——- then we found out it was recorded as part of his “live” l.p.!! WOW, talk about the TOTAL EXPERIENCE!!!—…. “Mmmmm-yeah!… gettin’ ready t’talk about The GHETTO, now y’all!”

  2. The term Ghetto was placed upon us it originated in Germany from a certain racist group against a certain religious group lived in then it got repurposed and placed on the black community around the world just like 3rd world which were European countries that had nothing to do with The Cold War between America and Russia.

  3. I feel you my brother, music is colour blind. Testimony to that how as black teenagers in South Africa we so much white artists like Elvis Presley, The Beatles and many others. Music Unites across all acial lines❤❤❤

  4. I'm 65 the Black Panthers tought me how to read, write, count, Defend myself and Above all Love God..Identify and recognize yo' self..it's a place you have to be..music brings it to mind..a nd the place still remains!! We talkin' bout' the GHETTO!!!!!!

  5. It's Sad How People can say Color for Music when Music is Life and Life is made of Different things that share the same Life of Living to Die Wake up World
    Divided we All Fall

  6. Donny Hathaway transports me to another universe: full of the rhythms, colours and taste of life at its richest. Such a magnificent voice & ability to imbue each instrument he played with all of his soul. I mean, to be an Anglo-Australian and have every nerve in my body tingling from this great musician’s ability to soar so effortlessly is a gift. It spans culture, creed and time. How I wish he had received the care he truly needed to manage his mental illness. ❤ Always ask your friends & colleagues: “how are you?” It’s the simplest way to check if that person needs you or a professional in times of real need.
