DJ premier stated in an interview on Drink Champs (w/Pete Rock) that Guru was drunk during the recording of this track (just in case someone thinking, ''why Guru sounds weird of this track?'').
Samples: "Check the Rhime" by A Tribe Called Quest (1991), "Snow Creatures" by Quincy Jones (1970), "Impeach the President" by The Honey Drippers (1973) (Drums), and "Just Us" by Richard Pryor (1975).
There's one thing that baffles me with this tune: The Honey Drippers's "Impeach the President" (1973) (Drums) "which is not on the Who Sampled website for the track. Can someone help?
