Once upon a time near the end of the 80s, knowledge became one of the most valuable commodities in hip-hop. Increasing levels of violence and poverty not only instigated a resentment between people of color and the American system, but also a desire for a greater cultural awareness. People wanted to know where they came from and hip-hop as a culture was beginning to realize that it was more than just dope beats and flashy cars.
With the help of their friends from the Leaders of the New School and Native Tongues, A Tribe Called Quest ushered in this change with a genre-shifting smash from their 1991 classic, The Low End Theory.

Beautiful breakdown
Grew up listening to tribe! Still one of my favorite groups to this day
loved the vid as someone who's only recently got into them but damn no love for charlie brown? his turn was the one that first hooked me
R.I.P Phyphe.
It's like we took ten steps forward then 1,000 steps back
Scenario is just the quintessential hip-hop track. It’s a bouncy, high-energy beat, and incredibly clever lyrics and wordplay. A classic.
Loved when scenario was in 2K15
"And here we are, three young black man doing something positive".
The fact that they thrived under that pressure on their shoulders, which is admirable it self considering the racism in USA, putting that in the form of art in such an impactful way. Truly amazing
Dope work
RAAHR RAAAHR LIKE A DUNGEON DRAGON!
Should be written in gold somewhere
This East Coast era is worthless
Snoop's debut was actually on Deep Cover. That was impactful, too. Leaders was out before Low End Theory, but Scenario is what really blew Busta up. That's when he became a superstar.
What a very succinct, yet stoping to underscore the "tour de force". What I had only understood unconsciously I now understand cerebrally. thank you
Gracias.
Tribe are The Beatles of hip hop.
it's crazy to me, this is the first CD I bought ever,( I'm a poor white person) it's great to see it celebrated
I have a playlist of my fave old rap and there is an 1 hour and a half of just a tribe
This was so beautifully edited
I remember they played this song for many years thru the 90s. Basically my anthem for elementary school!
Excellent video. I saw this a year ago and didn't comment as a fellow YouTube content creator I gotta say that you are one of the best channels I've come across. Peace to you.
– Cytonius
I know Busta's stock went up after doing this record It blew him up.
What a fantastic video. Congrats on making something so educational
And you already know there was probably some 80s rappers talking about I don’t know what these young cats are rapping about..
All love !
Interesting video
Awesome video, commenting mostly to boost you in the algorithm, but great video! Subscribed for sure

This channel is one of those hidden gems of YouTube.
Maaan, I so wanna have that ATCQ-as-Mount-Rushmore image on a t-shirt!!!
The most 90's music video to ever 90's
This guy sounds like captainkristian
It’s a shame we didn’t stay on this path
This video was incredible and I hope to see more from you!
Much Gratitude
Miss these days. Miss this hip-hop.
Tip explaining the Low End Theory is so relevant nowadays… mannnn
besides that, one of the best Quest tracks!!! Dungeon dragon!!
Thank you
Just a shame Charlie Brown is on the track, he has no grasp on mcing and his content is literally lifted from nursery rhymes.
