Rumor has it that the bass player is a saxophonist who also played bass on the Jackson Five's "I want you back".
Scott's Bass Lessons brought me here.

JIMMY HOPKIMS AND GARY SMITH
This is a serious Extrême funky jam. He must have inspired Tower of Power.
Times are partisan lately, but I think we can all agree the one person who disliked this song is a musical moron.
Beastie Boys making sure I find the best music since I was 14
Beastie Boys vive en sus melodias, hermoso !!!
So, let's kick it root down!!!
After years of enjoying his brilliant playing (received “Organ Grinder’s Swing” at age 6, same age I first saw a Hammond Organ – Sunday school)… I finally tweaked to the fact that Jimmy Smith seems to not use the C3 chorus when he’s using a Leslie on “Chorale”. The BEST on B3 – either way, o’ course!

I have been on this internet thing since it started and this is hands down the best content I have come across. Respect to Mr Smith.
Beastie Boys led me here. Grooving ass drum part.
Great version!
Jimmy is so underrated that it's a crime. Bridging the gap of jazz and funk. This is a masterpiece
