London Posse – Funky Rhyme, Funky Style

Off the reissue of Gangster Chronicle – The original Lp dropped in 1990 – so I assume this was recorded between 1990 – 1993

  1. Totally agree with everyone. Bionic made London Posse, but a rap group with a high pitched MC and a low voiced one, has always been a winning combo. Rodney's later stuff always relied on the same lazy patois, but we were just glad to hear from him. The stuff Bionic did with Tricky as Mad Dog, was quite good too. PS where's the double bass from? Action Bronson used it on 'Get off my P.P', but didn't flip it as well as South London's top boys.

  2. Agreed Bionic, UK's (for me personally) the finest MC, without doubt. We are all very lucky to have had Roddy Rok, Bionic, Sipho & Bizzniz. Done did. KRSS 1 was lucky to have some of LP in The Bridge is Over shoot.

  3. Bionic's rhymes were so fuckin good from so many aspects. Technically, the rhyme schemes were so far ahead of their time. The humour and descriptiveness is as good as Eminem I'd say. Rodney P has that trademark charisma and smooth flow, definitely. He's got some killer lines too, no doubt.
