  1. Esta bella mujer tenía un ángel muy especial…. Con su sonrisa y su mirada lo iluminaba todo….
Donde quiera que ahora esté, dichosos quienes estén a su lado …

  2. She had a very positive spirit and energy and refused to let her misfortunes to damp her spirit. The Jamaican government should honor her pioneering role as an arts ambassador posthumously. RIP Millie.

  3. I loved Millie and specially her song lollipop. Wonderful spirit she had. I never knew she died. Let her soul rest in heaven in peace.
May the Lord ease the pain and sorrow of close family members.
I will always love you Millie.

  4. What a Saint of a woman, able to talk about her worse and toughest times with a smile and still radiate with such spiritual beauty in her face. She was not simply a one hit wonder, she was the Mother to Ska. Her daughter sings too now! Doesn't her acapella version of Sugar Plum on the park bench sound like a lullaby to her daughter (although it is a simple song, the lyrics could be changed make it one)? Rest in Peace Millie Small…

  5. Had the opportunity to have a wonderful chat with her during the filming of the very first Shebang Dance Show (with Casey Kasem) in So. California (1964) . What a sweetheart!!! RIP young lady!!

  6. I wrote this song and I went over Millie's flat and played it on my guitar and she loved it so much so we decided to record it with part of the Greyhound band in 1986 and it cost me 900Pounds then. She sang her heart out and everybody body say they didn't know she could sing like that. She wanted everything the way it is and that's how I produced it. It could always be better but this is what we have to share with you all. Show some love download the tune and her daughter which is my God daughter will get Millies royalty. Thank you.

  7. Thames News doesn't know the name is Small and not Smalls. She did have that face of innocence like the voice in My Boy Lollipop. In all the years, I only knew her voice and only knew what she looked like when someone I know put out the announcement that she had died. There was a picture but if the name was not written, I would not have known who the person was talking about. I not only did not know what she looked like but anything about her personally, I said I would have to search the internet. I wondered why there was only the one song and she was no more but she had another well known song, it seems, about Enoch Powell and songs back in Jamaica before she became international. It seems she was a very simple person and not one who wanted a high life- to be in the limelight in a big way. That she wanted her feet to be always on the ground while using whatever talent she had. What a very, very different world it would be if everyone had such a simple heart. There'd be no homes that cost millions, jewellery that cost 5 and 6 figure sums, thongs that cost £400, handbags the cost of which can feed 5000, and such things.
