I’m really glad this showed in theaters because Im sure it sparked a lot of love for people who love anime and others who got into anime because of this
Question tho': just how did Oren's folks find themselves on the wrong side of Boss Matsumoto? What was the process that led to that? I've always wondered…
I think even Beatrix Kiddo would cry watching this scene again, but it doesn't excuse what Oren did. I love how you can't really tell who is in the right in these movies.
I love Bill's whole involvement in her back story and the fact that she teams with him later. I wonder is either if them ever figured that out. Still… it's interesting seeing a young Bill.
I’ve heard a lot of great film soundtracks…so many great moods captured over the years through sound. None, however, have really illustrated the depth of emotion Parte Prima has in this one scene. Like without the music this scene just doesn’t have as much gravity
This scared me to death when I was a kid.
What's the name of the song?
More than 15 years and i still question, why O Ren dont try to kill Bill?
Lucy Liu nailed this
My first anime.
This animated is way better than Snoop Dogg's Hood Of Horror.

The man lost his life to protect his wife and daughter
7:15 "Aw, man! I shot the crime boss in the face."
I wish there were more animes like this. I love how you can see the marks from the pencil or pen or whatever they used.
I totally forgot this scene existed. I'm sure I watched both films before, but this scene was a suprise upon rewatch.

Small bit critical detail.
The Yakuza boss has an Irezumi on him, check his arms when they are bare.
Man in white was bill, he killed her parents n she was working on him
So it's safe to assume O'ren killed the sword guy at some point?
boring
Killing brings peace …
