I saw Otis way back in the late 80's. He played a free outdoor show in Rochester, NY, part of a summer series put on by the city. The band started to play and Otis walked out in front of the riser to listen before going up on stage and picking up his guitar. It was great! Old folks in the front were complaining about the sound level, but I loved it. Afterwards he signed a $1 bill for me, "From Otis Rush". It was the only paper I had. Wonder where that went to.
You All Rest In Blues Heaven! You Gave It Your All! And Left An Unsurpassed Blues Legasy that will Never, Ever be Replaced! Thousands Imitate! But they can forget it! Its Weird to see people come from all over the world trying to sing and play the blues! And they fail miserably! Why? Because blues music interpretation is a totally African American Experience! Thier lives were so terribly cruel under Jim Crow laws that they couldn't help singing the blues! Blues Music is the one thing white people cannot steal from blacks! Blues Music comes from 400 years of suppression that no other people in this world has ever suffered like black people! Mob Lynchings done in an after-church picnic settings, disenfranchisement in education and housing, segregation, historical rapes, forced to breed with thier own family members by the thousands, unfair employment practices, etc. So, until white people have gone through a minute amount of that kind of systematic abuse, you need not waste time trying to sing and play the blues! I don't care how much of a gravel sound you have in your voice, you just don't sound right in these blues clubs and venues. But no one wants to tell you, while laughing behind your backs!
Thank God for all your good music Otis rush now you're playing in heaven along Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson Count Basie Prince BB King rest in peace my brother bless you
I've got a sweet little angel I love the way she spread her wings Yes got a sweet little angel I love the way she spread her wings Yes, when she spreads her wings around me I get joy, and everything

we are so lucky recordings like this still exist
Fred Below… Al Jackson.. y´know, if you dont know
Genius. There are guitarists who can sing, and singers who can play guitar, but Otis nailed both arts.
Otis you are really a master and king ofBLUES
The bass playing is very distracting.
Wow daddy O
Peter Greens hog trough
That's some creamy tone right there!! Guitar and Vocals!!!
Nothin' better than live. Every aspect here kills. The assertive bass totally brings it on. No, Shut up, it just DOES.
This is one of the best Otis Rush performances I've ever heard! Excellent!!! Thanks! I'll have to transcribe this one!

Not like his guitar playing isn't the shit, his voice is to die for. One of the Best!!!
Great stuff!!
This is the worst "bass" part in the history of the blues. Yikes
This version rivals even that of BB King's. Great, great artist.
