Pink Floyd – Marooned (Official Music Video) To help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell, is a limited release of the album in translucent blue, heavyweight vinyl as a 2LP set. It echoes the original limited blue vinyl release by Columbia Records in 1994.
Five years ago, the video for Marooned was released, then marking the 20th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell. Much of the thought-provoking video was shot by the Floyd’s Creative Director Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell in Pripyat, Ukraine, close to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, but there is also footage provided by NASA looking down at the planet from the International Space Station.

I've listened to this title like 500 times twenty years ago. Never saw that video until today. Every time I was listening, I had some kind of video in my head, There was a lady in bikini blonde and taned with a large hat made of straw walking in an old village maybe in greece, between the close white walls in a sunny eye-burning day. All is so bright, white, yellow.. She walks and the camera follows her, sometime behind, sometime before her. At some point ( just before the beat starts ) she stops, the camera is looking at her face, she takes a little breath, the beat starts and she jumps off a cliff and hits the water just when the guitar starts the lead. She goes underwater just like she doesnt need air. She discovers amazing little worlds of sealife until the end of song, that let her go deeper, fade to black.
I was wondering if anyone would care to suggest some songs compositions or artists with same or similar style as this song. I discovered Pink Floyd late in life, and would like to find out what else I've missed. Thanx.
Man, this combination of music and video is so powerful. It's hard to say which bit moves me the most; but it's a toss-up between the view of my homeland at 1:41, the deserted kindergarten or the young girl at 4:34 standing on the balcony and seeming to say "What happened? Everything's gone." Thanks for this wonderful musical mystery tour!
well Roger if nothing else you will always be remembered as not just the guy who left pink floyd but also the guy who said there was no possible way pink floyd could exsist or succeed without you….(good call rog that was right up there with the recording company guy who said "nope this band will never go anywhere" about the Beatles and refused to put them in a recording studio for even one day.
