  1. As relevant as it was then and even more now Talent is talent. It comes out one way or another. That's why we're still here today jammin' to this man and his band. I have this on a greatest hits. If it came out 68, my mother was jammin' to it while I was in the womb.

  2. One of the greatest and yet shortest verses ever written
"I am no better and neither are you
We're all the same, whatever we do
You love me, you hate me
    You know me and then
You can't figure out the bag I'm in"

Sly was a helluva man with a beautiful vision

  3. This can't be the "official video" for this song, because "Everyday People" was released in the year 1968. The images and dancing you see are clearly from long after that year. So this video was constructed decades after the song came out.
Great song, but the video doesn't measure up.

  4. Sometimes I'm right and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the banker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
I am everyday people, yeah, yeah
There is a blue one who can't accept
The green one for living with
A fat one tryin' to be a skinny one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby-dooby-dooby
    We got to live together
I am no better and neither are you
We're all the same, whatever we do
You love me, you hate me
    You know me and then
You can't figure out the bag I'm in
    I am everyday people
    There is a long hair
That doesn't like the short hair
For being such a rich one
That will not help the poor one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on, scooby-dooby-dooby
    We got to live together
There is a yellow one that won't
    Accept the black one
That won't accept the red one
That won't accept the white one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and
    Scooby-dooby-dooby
    I am everyday people

  5. This is the most profoundly elegant video I have ever seen!…..it describes my youth (I saw Sly and the Family Stone in 1972 as a 13 year old)…the music of the day was everything, we could feel God in it (easily)!

  6. A friend of mine who plays in The Young Rascals (a.k.a. Rascals) just opened for this band in the OC this summer. It is wonderful that the classic groups are still touring.
