I find that if you listen to one version for 20/30 years, thinking it's the only good one out there, then, find another one, you I instinctively ere to the one you've been listening to for 30 years, as it's melody is so stuck Inside your head, but taking all the instruments into account, there's a deeper soul sound to Millie's, and she is after all, one of the best 10 female soul singers ever, where as Ebony are not in my top 50 black soul bands, just sayin, that doesn't mean there no good, because of the quality of black music in the 70s, I could reel off 500 bands right now, and ide struggle to say who was the best, though I must admit, EDDIE KENDRICKS, and the BAND and ARRANGER he worked with between 73 and 77 were truly mind blowing, and for him to come out on top of Temptations, Chi-Lites, Originals, Spinners, Dells ect, is remarkable, but he just about does it, because of the two elements I mention above, before you ask, yes, even better than M Gaye, L Hutson, Al Green, Lou Rawls ect. If you want a dude who does the best covers anywhere on the planet, it's JIMI HENDRIX, ok, I know it's not soul, but for the brain dead out there , he had more soul than anyone else on the planet.
Big Tune
This has me leaning a little way to the the Ebonys but AWB broke it down to the basics best I think.
This is true baby so what's the hold up??
Try it baby I promise you will never ever regret it and never wanna look back
Can't wait

Did AWB steal this song?
Handsome man
The exceptional original version. Vocally esthetic and purely harmonic perfection. Tenors reign supreme.

My research of this song (one of my favorites)was done originally by the Ebony's
