THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI is a darkly comedic drama from Academy Award® winner Martin McDonagh (IN BRUGES). After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes (Academy Award® winner Frances McDormand) makes a bold move, commissioning three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Academy Award® nominee Woody Harrelson), the town’s revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing’s law enforcement is only exacerbated.

When I first saw this movie, I never wanted to ever see it again. All I saw were broken people hurting others, and living in unhappy uncertainty.
Recently I was thinking about it, and so I gave it another shot . Now it's probably one of my favourite movies ever. There so much kindness and humanity to each and every one of this morally grey cast. Some are never excused for what they’ve done at their worst, other times they’re nothing but excused. The absolute cruelty of what they're excused for is often brushed off in favour of all the kindness they've offered others. Other times, moments of pure kindness go completely unseen under the shadow of the harm they've caused elsewhere. It's a great meditation on justice both personally and socially, and its done so in a way that really refuses to leave your thoughts for a long time after. A masterpiece.
Every gott damn performance down to the silly news reporter is nailed…I cannot stress enough, that arguably, this movie is one of the best ever made…the story, the casting, the cinematography…every little detail… Woody, Sam, Frances, the main character roles are done amazing, but the sheer talent of all the side characters was the best part for me; the gift shop pal Denise who was arrested for weed, Peter Dinklage as the unsung hero to ‘Mildred Hayes,’ even her abusive ex husband played by the unappreciated actor John Hawkes, and right down to Clarke Peters who savagely plays the replacement police chief…this movie is a damn masterpiece of film…it deserved more awards and accolades than it was ever given.
I don't know what it was about this movie, but something about it really stuck with me ever since I watched it. It's not my usual type of movie I enjoy either. But the cast, the script, and that SCORE… stuck with me.
God help ud of all these nutters ranting neurotically sbout climate change stop petrol flowing, how we gonna make molotav cocktails and throw them at cop stations ?. Have to stop these neurotic climate changes no petrol or diesal no coal firess.
The writting of this movie is pitch perfect. It's 100% clear who these people are. Their motivations and actions. How in life you have to go through a river of shit. Sometimes you have to be brutal. Sometimes you drown. Sometimes you make it. Just make sure you help get the people who matter to you through it.
This was overhyped. Mildred was thoroughly unlikeable.

The ONLY negative aspect of this excellent film was how it ends. I didn't like it…

Brilliant movie like the scenes where she molatoves the police station .
