The movie that put me off ever trying drugs. I saw it in the movie theatre in Christchurch, NZ, when I was 18. I remember it spawned a massive Britpop craze.
Great movie.i knew nothing about heroin when i saw this in mid 90s. However bout 20 years later after rx addiction i myself turned to heroin and obviously some scenes in movie were much more real for me. The withdrawing dope sick scenes especially. Worst thing ive ever been thru. Thank god i was able to come out the other side.
Functioning heroin addicts are forming a union damn it. Why should they hide it? Do you how many people they work with that are functioning heroin addicts? Geez.

It starts high energy and stays there all 93 minutes . A prime example of well balanced explosive energy in cinema . I love this movie
