RHYMES,ROUTINES & RECORDS – THE LEGACY OF THE COLD CRUSH – FOUNDATION LESSON # 24 – JAYQUAN
JayQuan gives an in depth examination of the Cold Crush Brothers discography, each members contribution and a few of their best routines. Written, narrated, edited and produced by JayQuan.
DJ darrell fee from the crash crew I think he was the best DJ to cut the record back-and-forth I never make a mistake so when I first got a listen to him are used to try to cut the records how he did and some records it was just like for five seconds of that part and he was cutting it back-and-forth just my opinion when they made the song the Sugarhill label and he was cutting freedom live they didn’t let him get his loose as he did in the parks understand that but I just thought he was masterful would stay on beat
I have to totally disagree on Charlie chase 54 years old from the Bronx I was there had all the tapes the needle used to skip so much and he used to cut off beat so much these brothers watch some of the best emcees of that era much respect for them but he was not that good of a DJ
Say OG Foundation … almost every word you drop cause a pleasant ton of bricks falling on my head … I'm almost ready to comment and drop vibes but you keep flowing! What got me this time was you breaking history down about the "hut .." adlib that became a part of so many late 1980s records … This was what you said tho' … "The so called golden age of hip-hop …." Man! That late 80s early 90s was more an awakening of a whole bunch more folks embracing the music … and I get that, and I got it back then … but every time I made an earnest and passionate go back to this era you cover so True .. Yours truly was politely ignored into oblivion … I could have been talking about The Carpenters(Karen Carpenter a funky azzz drummer tho', lol!) Anyhow … I know you get it, you got it and you got it good and I really appreciate you Man! Luvups JD
Thank you for this short trip down memory lane on the history on old school rap. I love punk rock rap by the cold crush brothers. I still play it today.
Jay-Z said I'm overcharging niggas for what they did to the cold Crush that was my first time hearing a Cold Crush I was about 9 or 10 years old when that song came out. Now I see what he was speaking about they did not give the. Cold Crush got a lousy budget so the Cold Crush could not become as big as they should have been as far as how talented they were.
I'm on a mission to start a all black media conglomerate when our mission successful your channel would definitely be a proud acquisition ours because drop so much knowledge about the foundation of this culture in real fans of the culture really appreciate that that definitely is a demographic of people out there that need to hear this information and I feel that you would need a bigger platform for you to deliver it.

Jay z said 'I'm overcharging for what they did to the cold crush" and that made me want to learn more. You went above and beyond in terms of detailed history. Then I saw the types of videos you upload and I subscribed off the strength! Thank you for keeping the culture alive!
You produce some really excellent presentations. Man, I’m so thankful because they’re SO informative. Plus, of the material you present that I’m knowledgeable about, its like you’re right on point with how I’ve perceived things as a spectator; watching Hip-Hop as closely as I can, but still on the outside. Nicely done, and keep up the good work.
Any one kno what happen to D.J. cut fast & the devestaing mc's
