HEAD UP is an award winning 60minutes first acclaimed black people hip hop documentary film in Australia. Directed and produced by Botswana filmmaker Thabiso Maretlwaneng-a graduate in bachelor degree in Film at the Swinburne University in Melbourne. The documentary explores the way hip hop music genre and culture has influenced and made impact on the lives of black youth immigrants living in Australia from Africa-Sudan,Liberia,Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, UK and USA. It shows their experience ,struggle and obstacles in trying to penetrate their way to breakthrough in to the commercial music industry in Australia.It won BEST SOUNDTRACK Documentary at the largest independent New York film festival in 2009.
