COVID-19 and TikTok killed hip hop. I know this track came out when ringtone rap was at its peak, but this new shit (circa 2019 – present day) more specifically is just dull and boring as fuck. Back then, rappers had ENERGY! It doesn't matter what they were rapping about whether they were spitting stream-of-consciousness-filled bars, or rapping about money, fucking bitches, cars, smoking weed, selling crack, etc. What matters is how they rap, through the tone of their voice, to their flow, to their creativity of wordplay, to even their personality. Nowadays, everyone just phones it in just to make a quick buck. LITERALLY, phoning it in to the point where rappers aren't even using their own voices anymore (i.e. Drake).
Granted, there are still artists out there still making quality art to this very day, but the magic behind the music is lost.
Hip hop was still lit in 2006 . How did he claim it was dead back then. Because rappers did not want to right poetry in there music like him and make it boring.

Hip hop lost its message. As proof anyone can do it now. Doesn't take talent.

Nasir Jones is the true prophet of Hip Hop.
Only legends are needed to understand the psychedelic rap divinity of Prophet NAS.
