Yasmin Evans presents a 1Xtra documentary about the life & music of Sean Paul
Sean Paul has been making hit records for over 20 years. He has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest pop stars, sold over 26 million records, and is one of Jamaica’s most successful recording artists.
But who is the man behind the music & where did this music come from? Yasmin Evans went to Jamaica to find out.
On one incredible journey around Kingston, Sean treated us to an exclusive performance at the legendary Tuff Gong International, we got a glimpse inside his studio and discovered how his most iconic tunes were made.
We then followed Sean from Jamaica to the UK, and went behind the scenes as he prepared to play at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesbrough
Featuring: Anne-Marie, Annie Mac, Jax Jones, David Rodigan, Trevor Nelson, Naomi Cowan, Toddla T, Seani B, Idris Elba & more

Sean Paul a di King, good music, never inna too much controversy. Just a great person making amazing music
Hi
Sean Paul is almost like a Saint. How can someone be so big but also so humble down to the roots at the same time!
Love from Malaysia. We may sleep every night, but his music will always be "awake" at any given time.
The host is in love. I can tell.
In terms of singing in Jamaican they should follow the lead of Bob Marley, he sang as a Jamaican but people worldwide understood him, my favorite Sean Paul song is [Deport Dem] i just love how he rode that Rhythm.
Sean has placed Jamaica on the Map like Marley, Bolt, Shaggy Shelly etc. nuff people don't that when we are not hearing him he's making big World music with people like SIA, DUE LIPA, ANNMARIE ETC. these songs got billions [not millions] yes billions of streaming on Utube NO TO MENTION SALES so he is well known Worldwide.
Awesome documentary! I learned a lot new things! Cheers!

David rodigan should never been awarded the order of distinction by the government it is truly disgusting he is a uk native and a culture vulture he does not look or act natural in dancehall when there are other non jamaicans who do. Also there were many way more higher caliber jamaican natives who should of got the award
