The Culture: A Chicago Based Hip Hop Documentary
Presented by Lyrical Lemonade
Shot / Directed by Cole Bennett
This film is to show you the versatility of Chicago as it is a city that truly cannot be pinpointed when it comes to genre of hip hop. You will se different perspectives of the city throughout The Culture, yet everyone is chasing the same dream. Although violence is an aspect of Chicago that you cannot be ignorant to, this city is way more than just that. This film intentionally has no narration for the reason that narrations are intended to mold a perspective – this is for you to form your own. I hope everyone enjoys it, I spent a lot of time putting this together!
My apologies for the audio problems, I used an iPhone microphone to capture the audio due to it being a no budget film. You have to work with what you got.
Songs played + everyone involved are listed at the end of the film.

This documentary was very insightful , I’m born and raised in chicago , and music has been apart of my family’s life and mine as well for as long as I can remember . It’s almost like second nature to be creative browning up in our city weather you sing , rap, dance , make funny tapes. There is alway a unique added aspect of what ever it is that we do and that’s the culture of chicago. , the good the bad and what you do with it. Is most apparent in how we create and express our selves and there is reall only one rule “BE REAL” !! And that’s chicago culture through and through.

Don't Hate
Chicago is NOT the birthplace of Jazz or Blues. Lmao! That’s a simple google search away, my boy. New Orleans was the first to introduce Jazz by a long shot. Also, Mississippi has laid claim to introducing the first Blues music for just about as long. Take that Chicago BS somewhere else bc you clearly haven’t learned shiiiiiiiidddd
This 5 yrs old now 5 yrs later it's a WAR ZONE them punk's don't care killing whoever Elders young old baby's it's F up.
Was that 051 Melly on the stage at 1:02 with the white Sox hat on and hoodie?
I had no idea Cole Bennett made a documentary on chiraq , shout out to Cole and lyrical lemonade.
Yo
Rap music has become a destructive cultural force.
Like ever rising house prices ..when will machismo and violence start to drop off ?
Doesn't make any difference if your from Chicago or Ohio the content is all the same .
Dude, people think Chicago is negative because it is!! Even the regular people there are mean, rude and sadistic. I don't even mean the gangsta dudes, just regular 9-5 people. They're not friendly. Travel the world, go to good countries, and you'll see what I'm saying… Lots of very friendly places out there. AmeriKKKa is low on that list, and Chicago is almost a parody of the American attitude…
Thru thick n thin .. i love my city #chitown
That white boy rapping some fake shit
That nigga said the birth ave of jazz, lol. I think that's NO sir. He's a complete joke. NO was the murder capital of the world for yrs with 10 times less population.
