  1. I can relate so much to this… my parents gave up everything they could have for themselves, just so I can have a home on the other side of the earth, where I can choose my life more freely.

Chinese parents would give up anything for their children. They almost never say I love you or even compliment their kids, but it is all in the actions, their love for their children are insanely deep and unparalleled.

  2. I don't get ABCs who have this massive emotional crisis about not understanding what China is. You don't need to have total knowledge of yourself to be a good functional person and ultimately you are more than your race, unless you wanna keep being a whiny little shit and milk your own anxiety for oppression points

  3. To be Chinese in America is paradoxical. We have to embrace all that America has offered us while also enduring the terrible media bias constantly giving us negative stories about China. In school we are taught from an American POV that China is evil, so from a young age we are nurtured to ‘hate’ everything that is important to us—our culture, our history, our extended families. I’m glad this younger generation growing up now has access to the web and social media so that they know there is more than what our educators and journalists are telling us. This applies to anyone from a country that is not a natural ally of the USA. We are proud of our culture and our identity and we’re sick of the west telling us we shouldn’t be.
