In this edition of True Hip-Hop Stories, Dana Dane takes us on a journey through Fort Green Projects and discusses what motivated him to write his classic recording “Cinderfella Dana Dane.”
I didn't grow up in NY but when I watch these episodes it's like going home. They provide a connection to our Hip Hop roots. Thank you for making them and spreading love through music in CQ. #hiphopforever
I loved this jam since I was a teenager. I was broke, young, skinny, with a bunch of pimples on my face, and I did have an asshole step dad. I still rock this song.
(Cinderfella) to me ,is by far one of the most Vivid songs i ever heard..The beat ,The lyrics,I wish he could have done a video for the song..If he would put out new album telling stories i would buy it… Thanks for the classic….
I respect his honesty and the fact that he didn't allow where he grew up to stop him from achieving his dreams. Its funny that rappers who helped to make hip hop popular didn't make as much as today's artist but it wasn't all about money. They had a real love for the ART FORM KNOWN AS HIPHOP.
YOU DUMB FUCK FACES HE WANTED TO RAP LIKE HE WAS FROM OVERSEAS AND SLICK RICK WANTED TO RAP LIKE HE WAS FROM HERE SO THEY HELPED EACH OTHER OUT SO SHUT THE FUCK UP
Slick rick an dana dane is from Jamaica. Thats why he said when he came to the project there blacks an Hispanics.
