For anyone wondering why the loads of comments in Portuguese (mostly from Brazilians), "merda" in Portuguese is the most common slang for human excrement, that is, "shit", so it became a funny meme here in Brazil and it's the main way people here get to know this wonderful sound
The sound is just great. What a beautiful track. Our band from Ireland play with psych soul sometimes. Check out our latest track from isolation here and subscribe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ooSmUkWyrQ
I'm a younger person, and fairly late in the game on discovering your music, sir, but I am a huge fan. Your music has gotten me through a lot of challenging times the past few years. It's incredible. Thank you.
Hi VC!
Really like your stuff…wonder why I have never found it before? Been a massive fan of Funkadelic, Clinton, War, Starr, Motown, Jimi, what we in England call 'Northern Soul' and funk-rock stuff for years and yet not found your magic. Now I have, I want you to come to England and show off! My youngest bruv works in the Motor city – I am coming to get ya! Keep the faith. brize-at-large.blogspot.com – you are star billing today!
Hi Brian
thanks glad you can dig our shit!. I like to checkout your blog post a link to it.
Linnie (Anthony and Charles Hawkins sister) is still around but not performing.
Yeah that was before Golden World. Golden World 1965
Yeah I remember Henry. He was kind of a talent scout and a producer.
At that time Me, Anthony Hawkins and Theodore "Teddy" Thomas (drums) were callings our band "Impact". We pretty much listened to the melody the majority of the songs we recorded there and came up with the music for them. Same thing at Fortune.
I think you were playing at Golden World? circa 1965-6. So it was before that? You were session men for Henry Smith on Dequindre perhaps? Do you remember him? Was he a money man or a music man or both? I've seen his name on 45's.
"Mystery of Love" by Gwen Owens does sound pre-1965 I suppose. I wonder if you guys are on this? A great song unfortunately not on YOUTUBE yet.
I've got more questions for later reference pre-Black Merda if that's ok? Your history is important.

In PT-BR this band's name sounds ridicolous (merda = shit)
But their songs are very nice
That lead singer sounds little bit like Jimi Hendrix, doesn't he?

Ok I thought you may have been writing a book or and article or something.
Mystery of Love was a New Mystical Recording I think it was recorded it at United Sound Studios
On "My Baby" the group is listed as " The Fabulous Impacs" the record company did that.
We were actually calling ourselves "The Impact Band And Singers"
The Band was Me, Anthony Hawkins, and Teddy Thomas (drums) The singers were Tyrone Hite. Charles Young, William Pugh and Robert Jones.
I love history so I'm always beating that drum, so to speak.
I listened to both sides of your Bomb 45 again last night and thoroughly enjoyed hearing them again (search IMPACS MY BABY).
I wonder if you recall where they were recorded?
I've also uploaded my first video today – "Mystery of Love" by Gwen Owens.
Coincidentally Gwen asked this week if anyone on YOUTUBE had a copy.
Hope it brings back memories and helps Black Merda fans appreciate your early work.

Yeah that was Impact on "Mystery Of Love"
Why is our history important?
