  1. How will power be generated? Senegal's electric grid is powered by diesel and coal. There are renewables but those can't power a city alone and you can't run an entire city on diesel. Nuclear would be the best choice but a nuclear plant alone costs $6 billion to $9 billion and is not profitable until 10 years. The proposed cost of this city is $6 billion? I guess there is no room for a nuclear plant. Where are the sewage and water treatment facilities? Where does the garbage go? Waste generation in Senegal is expected to more than triple by 2050. Will this city contribute to that or will it manage it's own? What about sea level rise? By 2050 the sea is expected to rise by a foot. Is the planning taking that into account? I'm sure all of these questions are being meticulously worked out as we speak and the deadline of this becoming a reality by 2036 is no problem. The computer graphics are very nice.

  3. This is possible. There are more projects in Africa now like this. Check out TAL city in Gambia. There are others in Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda etc. So its not just a dream, its doable
