  1. Guru’s flow and lyricism is unparalleled. I think he’ll always be my favorite MC. Sucks that by the time I discovered him in high school was a few months after he died. I’ll never get to see a show but I’m grateful for all the classic albums he made, guru along with big L, BIG, Nas and pac all really put me on to appreciating hip hop. Miss the boom bap era and the diggin in the crates for vinyl samples and where lyricism and flow was what it was alll about.

Side note I had a friend who was about 12 years older than me and I forget exactly how it happened but Guru was doing a show in Orlando in my hometown and he was big in the music industry at the time and he was actually sent to pick up guru from the airport and drive him around and basically make him happy. He told me right when he got picked up guru asked to go get some weed and they picked up some super fire and guru was like ya gotta smoke this blunt with me. Funny my friend was a lil Jewish white dude who ended up being a lawyer, you wouldn’t picture the two together smokin blunts. He showed me a photo of him and Guru, mad jealous he got to live thru the 90’s era and hang with a legend

  2. I was in ATL when DWYCK came out. And around some of the video directors who made it I forget there names but it was a guy and a girl who lived in a hi rise in mid town. I think his name was Keith and the girl was fine.

  3. Yo this is why his music is still relevant. If he had no money from making beats or playing shows he'd still be doing it. This guy cares so much about the artistic side of things. We all wonder why rap music is so hit and miss these days. I think it's money perverting the art.

  4. If I'm not mistaken, the jazz persona of the group described by DJ Premier, basically came from GURU'S influence from his father, The Late , Honorable JUDGE Harry Elam, Sr. Whom was an avid Jazz music listener.

  5. Man, Premier is an actual legend. I would LOVE to be able to shake his hand one day and show my appreciation for what he has done. Probably won't ever happen but I have so much respect for this man. Thank you Premier.

  6. Guru’s nephew told the world that solaar and his girl signed hospital records that nobody could see guru not even his own family, I remember the exposure basically solaar and his girl murdered Guru
