Herbie, who's got musical capital to criticize his music? I love the original Waterman Man. He was quite young when that was recorded. He had recorded with some of the greatest jazz stars by his 25th birthday. When Headhunters came out it was a shock to the jazz establishment. Once I got it and listened to it I saw he redifined funk with his deep soul. They're still imitating his music. He would excuse the uninformed for their criricism.

Herbie is the genius who put the electronic synthesizer into jazz and made it functional for old school, progressive and abstract and make it all funky.
