  1. I never knew about Suboi until after watching this and I was surprised to see a Vietnamese rapper for the first time. She is an amazing rapper and I'm happy to be a new fan now! I also love Awich, she is an amazing role model for women and a strong person for what she went through. It's great to see more smaller Asian artists get recognition, this was a beautifully crafted project. Mad respect to everyone involved in creating this documentary.

  2. the 10 finalist of Youth with you is a band boy itself which can beat south Korea BTS anytime…what wrong with china…with 1.5 billion china cant compete with south korea 50 million k POP…..what a shame mr Xi jin ping….a leader should made china great in economic, culture , communication, military….

  3. Hello China, with 1.5 billion its a shame you cannot have a band boy like Youth with you to beat s.korea 50 millions BTS. I thibnk My Xi jin ping should made china great in economic, technology, military and culture like music and art. youth with you is so much better than RAP , Mr Xi you have to watch youth with you to see the Chinese talent in song and dance, better than the south Korean k pop. Its an embarrassment that china with 1.5 billion do not have a band boy like K POP.

  4. Missed opportunity to grab rappers in the Philippines. We have a lot of really talented rappers in there. Check Shanti Dope for example, his track got even featured in Captain America and the Winter Soldier

  5. * Claims to strive for increased Asian representation in music *

Only represents the 1/3rd of Asia which is already the most well represented Asian community while completely ignoring the remaining 2/3rd of Asia (South Asia, Central Asia)

  6. Nujabes might be in heaven looking over proudly, that Asian cultures that he brought from composing lofi hip-hop back then is still being carried on by these rappers. Asia Rising! (Especially to Brian, love from Indonesia)

  7. The Rich Brian phenomenon reminds me of Susan Boyle. It's a shock value and stereotype breaker effect more than anything in my opinion.

Sean, oth, is very creative. He seems like the kinda guy who can make a dollar outta 15-cent.

  8. But there's nothing really original about this. Unless they incorporate and take a drastic spin on it to make it into their own, I don't see this going really far. (And yes, I am writing this comment 2 years after this documentary was made.)

  9. I don't think any of those artists are dis respecting any black culture.. they actually just put their own spin to it..we all take from each other ..and its a beautiful thing when its done right..I only hate it when people say..oh look he/ trying to be such and such without knowing anything about that person..I get it I grew up around different people from different walks of life and I love every style whether its coming from east or west..let's just embrace each other and give people a chance to express themselves without a label..but black culture just has that SWAGG..which its lit so who wouldn't want to be a part of that

  10. I have never heard of 88rising till now and this was one of my favorite documentaries. Plus I think 88rising has a new fan because this was so interesting to see.
