  1. This is a great, poignant time capsule tune, that should of been longer for me. Not only did Jeru see the direction that Badboy was taking hiphop in, but he also pointed at Puffy and Suge, who's power struggle arguably led to two great rappers dying not long after this. BUT… Jeru got black-balled, and Puffy got rich because cash rules everything around us.

  2. Back then dissing was a part of lyrical context to call out the wack emcees, making sure they get filtered out in the art. Later on dissing was coined as a form of hating, and gradually the quality of what once an art died.

  3. One of the most important songs in hip hop history. Absolutely relevant today and predicted the future at a time when hip hop was at a crossroads. Unfortunately it didn't turn out the way it did in the song.
