  1. It Was Written was my first Nas album but then when I heard Illmatic I couldn't believe I had missed out on the release I'll probably one of the best hip-hop albums ever. Nas and AZ are lethal combination, in fact both of their second albums we're really good follow-ups however Illmatic and doe or die infinitely classic albums

  2. Apple wants to do something for this man. Grab up the many many tracks that were just on mixtapes or random albums or lost during Nas's Illmatic and It was written time, clean up the sound and release it with the assistance of Nas and put out a CLASSIC 5 MIC ALBUM for hip hop. You can do the same for Mobb Deep as well.

  3. Ironic how much love hip hop is getting now when back in the days it got none, except from the true hip hop heads. Nas was still struggling even after this classic album was released.

Talk about true how hip hop was a pariah at award shows for the longest time even though it was the single most compelling genre of music being released during that whole decade. And it still goes on…

  4. I remember chillin in Queens Bridge with my cousin Ty Nitty (Infamous Mobb) and he telling me ( I was 12 yrs old then….now I'm 41 yrs old) not to say nothing while he was hangin out in the staircase and about 10 dudes was in a cypher…..spittin. I was in awe of everyone's flow at the time UNTIL I heard this one voice rhyming and he was freestyling while someone was beating on the project wall….it wasn't until after I left I asked my cousin Ty' who that was & he told me that was (Nasty) Nas at the time. I KNEW at 12 yrs old he was nice and I never heard ANYONE since flow that effortlessly and smooth with his lyrics and style….when Illmatic dropped in 94' I remembered that the rhyme he was spittin was the now CLASSIC "Halftime". Even though I grew up in Staten Island KillaHill PJ's……and a fan of the GREATEST RAP GROUP to ever rhyme……NAS's " ILLMATIC" is the GREATEST HIPHOP album of all time and as influential to music as THRILLER (Micheal Jackson). TALKING BOOK
(Stevie Wonder) & EXODUS (Bob Marley)…..I still recite these lyrics that have become the fabric of my youth and understanding as a man. I'm blessed to have witnessed GREATNESS in its purest form. Thank you NAS for this gem…..IT AIN'T HARD TO TELL your genius!!!!!
