The Doors – Riders On The Storm

The Doors – Riders On The Storm

Band: The Doors
Album: The Very Best of The Doors
Release date: 2001
Track number: 7
Genre: Psychedelic Rock
Lyrics:

Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we’re born
Into this world we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor on a loan
Riders on the storm

There’s a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin’ like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
If ya give this man a ride
Sweet family will die
Killer on the road, yeah

Girl ya gotta love your man
Girl ya gotta love your man
Take him by the hand
Make him understand
The world on you depends
Our lives will never end
Gotta love your man, yeah

Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we’re born
Into this world we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor on a loan

Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm

  2. Most Stylish Song, Period.
This song is more than 50 years ahead since its released, this is the right time that this song should have been broad into light!!

  3. Even though I am only 29 years old at the time of typing this hearing the Need for Speed Underground 2 version made me want to find the original and all I can say is almost 20 years later I am so glad I found the perfect song

  4. Anyone else aware of the negativity & disparaging remarks made by other artists over the years regarding The Doors & Morrison? It annoys me that people such as David Crosby, Joe Walsh, Lou Reed, Jerry Garcia and Robert Plant all had only negative things to say about Jim Morrison in particular…

David Crosby imo was alright, but safely followed along with all the other folk and acoustic era artists of the sixties and was much further down in the totem pole compared to Morrison. CSN were smart in their decision to combine three mediocre voices into one through harmonizing as none of them on their own were good enough to front a band…

Walsh cited Jim dying in the tub as reason not to hold him in such a high regard…. Right, like dying in a bathtub somehow tarnished Jim's legacy. Hell, Elvis Presley died on the toilet, but is still regarded as the King. I think these artists must have been a little jealous or envious myself.

Lou Reed- (Mr. Walk on the wild side), had a pretty good talking voice but couldn't sing for sh-t imo. If not for 'Wild Side hit), few would know who he was. 'Perfect Day' was good too, but I think Lou was highly overrated.
